Trauma Therapy with Colleen Perry, MFT
You are not broken. You are carrying pain that deserves care, understanding, and healing.
Trauma comes in many forms—sometimes it stems from a single life-altering event, and other times it builds over time through repeated experiences of hurt, fear, or neglect. Whether you’ve experienced childhood abuse, sexual trauma, emotional betrayal, medical trauma, a sudden loss, or the impact of long-term stress or relational harm, your story matters—and how it lives in your body and mind matters, too.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, numb, anxious, constantly on edge, or disconnected from yourself or others. You might not always have words for what you’re feeling, and that’s okay. Trauma often leaves us feeling stuck in survival mode, even long after the event has passed.
In therapy, we create a safe and grounded space to gently explore your experience—at your pace, with compassion and care. You are always in control of what you share, and our work will be collaborative, empowering, and tailored to what feels right for you.
Together, we will:
- Uncover and honor your story without re-traumatizing
- Gently reconnect you to your body and sense of safety
- Learn grounding and regulation tools for managing overwhelm and triggers
- Challenge shame and self-blame that often accompany trauma
- Rebuild trust in yourself, your relationships, and the world around you
I use a trauma-informed, integrative approach that may include somatic work, mindfulness, inner child work, parts work (such as IFS), and other evidence-based practices to support your healing.
Trauma may have shaped your past, but it doesn’t have to define your future. Healing is not about forgetting or pretending it didn’t happen—it’s about finding your way back to yourself, your strength, and your wholeness.
You don’t have to carry this alone anymore. When you’re ready, I’m here to walk beside you.
